The Buffalo News' John Vogl sums up today's Sabres game against Ottawa, perfectly:

The Buffalo Sabres are feeling good about themselves. They should. They followed a convincing victory in Toronto with possibly their best win of the season. They went into Boston and dropped a team on a 10-game winning streak, a team that had won 14 straight at home.

The Sabres of earlier this year, before Lindy Ruff declared a new season, would lose tonight's game. Heck, the Sabres up until two games ago would definitely lose. Winning tonight, against a weaker division opponent, would show fans that Buffalo is a serious playoff contender. In case you were wondering, if the regular season ended right now, the Sabres would squeak in, in eighth place (with a game in hand over Pittsburgh).
